Suzanne AkerBallet Lubbock Founder
Suzanne Aker, Ballet Lubbock’s Founder, served as its first Artistic Director and Choreographer. Ms. Aker holds a B.A. Degree in Art and English from Tulsa University and has taught professionally for over 50 years. She holds Teacher Certification from the Royal Academy of Dance, England, and was instrumental in the earliest days of the Department of Dance at Texas Tech University.
What is an endowment fund?
An endowment fund is a permanent, self-sustaining source of funding. Endowment assets are invested. Each year, a portion of the value of the fund is paid out to support the fund’s purpose, and any earnings in excess of this distribution are used to build the fund’s market value. In this way, an endowment fund can grow and provide support for its designated purpose in perpetuity.
